OpenEDG Python Institute Co-Organizes EuroSciPy 2024 in Szczecin, Poland

Szczecin, Poland – September 2024 – The 16th edition of EuroSciPy, the annual European Conference on Python in Science, took place at the Maritime University of Szczecin from August 26-30, 2024. This was the first time the event was held in Poland.

OpenEDG Python Institute was pleased to co-organize and serve as an institutional sponsor for the conference, which attracted over 350 participants, 50 speakers, and featured 24 workshops. The event included two days of tutorials, two days of talks, and a final day of coding sprints, where attendees collaborated on open-source Python projects.

Our colleague Pawel Zal delivered a presentation titled "The Magic of Magic Methods in Python," sharing insights into Python's inner workings.

Throughout the event, OpenEDG Python Institute hosted a booth promoting our certification programs and engaging with participants on Python’s role in education, science, and industry.

In addition to the technical sessions, attendees enjoyed a boat tour along Szczecin’s rivers and harbor, as well as a social dinner at Dzika Gęś, a restaurant in the heart of Szczecin.

"We were happy to be part of this year’s EuroSciPy conference," said Christopher Boguslawski, President at OpenEDG Python Institute. "It was a great opportunity to connect with the Python community and support the continued development of Python in scientific research."
